FALSE PAPERS: Deception and Survival in the Holocaust

by Robert Melson

*False Papers* tells the story of how my Dad, Willy, my mom, Natalie, and I, Sylvio Mendelsohn, survived the war in Poland and Czecholosvakia by acquiring false papers of identity. The extraordinary thing is that our papers were that of Polish aristocrats, the Count Jan Zamojski, his wife Janina, and their son Boguslaw. The book is based on interviews I conducted with my parents before they passed away and on my own childhood memories.

The book is a finalist for the National Jewish Book Awards for 2001,

Best Wishes, and Shalom,
Bob Melson
