Searching for any family members of FIRA (IRA) ALTSHULLER - Ukraine.

What I know for today is:

In the Official Certificate of the Red Cross from Moscow I got a couple years ago they confirmed officially that:

"My mother Irina Altshuller, date of birth 1934, lived in Kiev. Her mother died. Her father was sent to the army. My mother was sent to the Children house in Osievskaya Street (now it is Hertsen Street) in Kiev in 1944"

What I found yet myself in the archives of the Ministry of Education here: In the Official Registry there is a big list of children who were sent to the children house in Kiev. Yes, there is Irina (aslo Fira)Altshuller who sent to the SAME children house that they wrote in the Red Corss. The official in the Ministry of Education explained me that they could name her Ira (i.e. Irina as written in her further documents) instead of Fira to hide her Jewish nationality. In this registry the following date of birth (JUST YEAR and not month or day) are indicated in one case 1934 in other 1935.

I also found the same exactly data in the State Kiev Archive. I looked a lot of documents of children sent to the children houses and found my mother's name Ira Altshuller who was sent to the children house in 1944. After 1944 and other years till 1947 there is no any data. What my mother told me that here Children house relocated to the West of Ukraine (Boryslav town something like that). From the west of Ukraine my mother was sent to the school to learn metal turner profession in Cherkassy region where she later got marriage with my fahter and therefore I was born.

My mother died from cancer in 1989 when she was 54 years only. All her life she dreamed to find somebody (i.e. I do NOT need any compensation from Germany as many of archives official ask me for what I look for). It is my soul state. And that is why I am so THANKFUL for your support.

When studing in Kiev (1980-1985) in the Institute of foreign languages my mother often came to Kiev and even showed me the place where they lived before the war. It was just in the down town of Kiev.

I understand that it is very few. Unfortuantely my mother did not remember exaclty the name of here father or mother. So I just have ALTSHULLER.

I must visit this Saturday the Kiev Archive again in order to make some search althgouh it is very problematic to do here. But I still believe that somebody could be alive and know of some relatives of my mother.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks in advance,

Yours faithfully,
